Eras (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (“App”) and website at eras.market (“Website”).

By using Eras, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our App or Website.

Information you provide directly:

• Account information: Email address, username, display name, password, and optional profile bio
• Profile photo: Avatar image you upload
• Listing content: Photos, titles, descriptions, memories, prices, and item details you post
• Messages: Text and images sent through in-app chat
• Reviews: Ratings and written reviews you leave for other users
• Reports: Information submitted when reporting users or listings

Information collected automatically:

• Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version
• Location data: City and state-level location (only when you grant permission) used to show nearby listings and set listing locations
• Usage data: Pages visited, searches performed, features used, and interaction patterns
• Push notification tokens: Device tokens for delivering notifications (via Expo Push Notification service)

We use collected information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Display your listings and profile to other users
• Enable messaging and offer negotiation between buyers and sellers
• Send push notifications for messages, offers, reviews, and other activity
• Show nearby listings based on your location
• Enable search and discovery of listings
• Process in-app purchases (Bumps and Promotes)
• Calculate and display seller ratings
• Moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
• Respond to support requests

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform built on PostgreSQL. Supabase provides:

• Encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL)
• Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only access their own data
• SOC 2 Type II compliant infrastructure

Photos (listing images, avatars, chat images) are stored in Supabase Storage buckets with access controls. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

• Other users: Your username, avatar, location (city/state), listings, reviews, and rating are visible to other users. Your email is never shared.
• Service providers: We use third-party services to operate the App, including Supabase (database), Expo (push notifications), Apple App Store and Google Play Store (in-app purchases).
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request.
• Safety: We may share information to prevent fraud, abuse, or threats to safety.

Eras requests location permission to show nearby listings and to set your listing location. Location data is used at the city/state level only — we do not track precise GPS coordinates continuously. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.

You can control whether your location is displayed on your profile through the “Show Location” privacy setting in the App.

We use Expo Push Notifications to send you alerts about messages, offers, reviews, and other activity. You can customize which notifications you receive in the App settings, or disable them entirely through your device settings.

Your push notification token is stored in your profile and is only used to deliver notifications you have opted into.

Eras offers optional in-app purchases (Bumps and Promotes) processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment information — all payment processing is handled by Apple or Google. We record the transaction ID, purchase type, and amount for our records.

The Eras mobile app does not use cookies. Our website may use essential cookies for functionality. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers.

Eras is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will delete that information promptly.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Delete your account and personal data (available in App settings)
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of non-essential data collection

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information, take down your listings, and delete your profile data. Some data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics or as required by law.

Conversations and messages may be retained for the other participant even after your account is deleted, but your username and profile information will no longer be associated with them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
